Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Daniel Haug is the founder & Chief Executive Officer of Cohere Technology Group. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Haug has over 25 years of experience managing and contributing to technical efforts on DOD & Intelligence Community programs. Dan founded, grew, and divested Potomac Fusion Inc. Dan was most recently Chief Engineer & Vice President, Data Fusion & Analytics at Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc., where he arrived after selling Potomac Fusion Inc. to Sotera in 2012. Dan has previously provided senior engineering management at CyberSource, Austin Info Systems (AIS), and Lockheed Missile and Space Company where he was a graduate of the Lockheed Artificial Intelligence School.
Dan has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS and has completed coursework to obtain a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Texas State University-San Marcos. He holds memberships in the IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, Association of Old Crows and AFCEA. He is an active pilot who currently serves as the Commander of the Commemorative Air Force’s National Capitol Squadron, and flies a North American T-6 radial-engine aircraft for personal enjoyment as well as formation flights for veteran’s events, funerals, and outdoor gatherings.
Chief Technology Officer
Cohere’s technology and thought leader is an accomplished and award-winning researcher and technologist, with more than 25 years of experience developing software solutions for DARPA, INSCOM, and other customers. Mr. Risch is the former Chief Scientist for Data Visualization at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Computational and Mathematical Sciences Directorate, where he led the development of the Starlight Visual Information System, the world’s first purpose-built, enterprise-scale visual analytics system. Mr. Risch was also instrumental in the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Visualization and Analytics Center (NVAC) at PNNL.
He has been a serial entrepreneur, having served as CTO of Future Point Systems, a Silicon Valley-funded software startup established to commercialize software Mr. Risch developed while at PNNL. Mr. Risch left Future Point in 2009 to join Dan Haug as VP of Research & Development at Potomac Fusion.
Mr. Risch has 19 research publications and is the lead contributor on a U.S. Patent. In addition to an R&D 100 award, Mr. Risch has also won a Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Technology Transfer. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast, with particular affinities for backpacking, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, and scuba diving, and is an active adult member of the Boy Scouts of America.
President, Cohere Services, LLC
Cohere’s operations and service delivery leader brings over 45 years of experience in military intelligence operations and related government contracting services. Mr. Richmond was previously the Senior Director, Operations and Integration at Sotera Defense Solutions. Previous to that, as an Executive Vice President at Electronic Warfare Associates (later acquired by IIT), he grew the intelligence division from a four person office in 1997 to 140+ personnel with annual revenue approaching $30M by 2010.
As the Senior Operations Analyst with Analytical Systems Engineering Corporation (ASEC) Mr. Richmond co-authored INSCOM initial planning to assume operational control of two existing national SIGINT facilities in the European theater (BAS & MHS) and the development of a new remote facility that grew to become the Gordon RSOC, Ft Gordon GA. Mr. Richmond is a retired Sergeant Major.
Vice President, National Security Programs
As one of Cohere’s principal sales and growth leaders, Mark Bogart has almost 4 decades of experience in Government and Private Sector contracting, sales, and delivery of professional services with the Federal Sector, DoD, and Intelligence market places. His primary focus at Cohere is to drive growth across all markets and assure internal process maturity and discipline to yield returns on the company’s business development investments.
Prior to joining Cohere, Mr. Bogart served as an independent Business Development Consultant and also as Executive Vice President at Reliatrust Technologies, Inc., following a 38-year career in DOD and the Intelligence community various acquisition and program management leadership functions at DIA, DISA, Navy, and DLA. In his last government assignment, Bogart retired as an SES from DIA where he managed a budget of $2.9 million in contracts and a staff up to 175 military, civilians, and contractors. He is a member of the National Contract Management Association and is an active volunteer with the AFCEA Chapter in Tysons Corner. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Virginia Tech and resides with his family on a horse farm in Loudoun County, Virginia.
